These four technologies produce a powerful platform to develop websites. they are not only well suited together but are currently the most popular platform for web development on the internet. Also these leading technologies are open source which results in two important factors. The combination of them being free to develop and the most popular choice advances their development, also as they are free costs for hosting are cheaper than there Microsoft equivalent which gives LAMP an advantage over Microsoft's asp (Active Server Pages) and the .net system.
